Image Pals is a suite of three programs for capturing, importing, editing and storing images. It is perhaps best described as a database system for images. The Album section allows you to import your pictures and store them in an easy to manage format so that finding a picture is easy. You can have more than one album and each one allows you to view the images, print them or convert them. The Capture program is designed to acquire images from a wide range of sources from TWAIN devices to paint packages and can extract parts of screens as well as icons and bitmaps from programs that aren't even running.

Enhancer is the third program in the suite and can be used to crop, convert, re-size, rotate, slant and more and also includes a full range of painting tools for editing images and a set of filters for improving images.

This is a versatile package with support for most file formats and should help you get the most out of your graphics. Don't forget that the all new Photo Impact 3 (the new version of Image Pals) is available for a special upgrade price in this month's magazine. You can save over £70 off the normal retail price.

When you install this product, you will require a serial number. The number you must enter is 12543-20609-00013.

There is a known issue with ImagePals concerning the toolbar which sits in the Album program. This links to the other programs in the suite, but has the incorrect path set for these files. This is easy to solve after you have installed the program.

1) Choose the Preferences from the File menu in Album. Change the default working directory to wherever you installed the ImagePals program.
2) Choose the Toolbox icon from the toolbar on the right. Remove any programs in the toolbar. Now choose Add from the same menu. You can now add back in the programs from the working directory. From now on, the toolbar will find the files correctly.
